GOOD ATTENDANCE AT NEW VENUE
While there was a good attendance at this new venue in Ballinsaloe the top price and sale average reflected somewhat the time of year, the age and quality of bulls forward. The days champion a five star bull Trillick Duke by Ocean Pompii 2nd out of Killoe Debbie from JJ Farrell's Trillick herd at Longford was withdrawn without reaching his reserve. The days op price of €1,780 was paid for Michael Molloys Moyclare Hot a second prizewinne by herd sire Moyclare Earl out of Moyclare Use.
Judge John Hayes selection as Reserve Champion Ballyraggan Gallant 643rd by herd sire Glaslough Bruce sold at a disappointing €1,570 while Padraig McGrath of Elphin sold his second prizewinner Kye Paul 500 by Glaslough Esquire at €1,730. Overall a relatively good result at this new venue with a sale average of €1,697, range 1,500-1,780 and clearance of 55%.
