The day’s top price of €2500 was paid for Reserve Champion, Balleen Basel, a five star bull with a top 1% ranking within the breed, he was bred and exhibited by G & T Brennan, Freshford, Co Kilkenny. By successful herd sire Gageboro Eugenic, a Storm son, he is out of Balleen Moobell by Balleen Don. The purchaser was Eamon Stackpool, Riddlestown, Rathkeale.

Bally-dowel Frost, a five star bull for beef carcass exhibited by Joe Maher, Ballydowel, Rathmoyle, Co Kilkenny sold at €2000 to Noel O’Grady, Ardpatrick for use within his crossbred suckler beef herd. By Mr Maher’s five star herd sire Balleen Frost he is out of Bally-dowel Cathy by Curraghroe Xray.
Prices ranged from €2500 to €1200 with an overall average of €1650 and a clearance of 75%.
