Irish Hereford Prime beef has been launched into the Italian market with one of the highest possible recommendations. The benefits of using Hereford beef in Italian cooking are backed up by none other than Chef Gualtiero Marchesi. This is a major coup for the Irish Hereford Prime brand in Italy because Chef Marchesi is certainly one of the most renowned Italian chefs. He is head of the International School of Italian Cuisine (ALMA) and the first Italian chef to win three Michelin stars as well as being a founder member of Euro-Toques (the association of European chefs).
The launch of Irish Hereford beef by Bonometti Carni (market leader in sales of meats in Italy) in conjunction with AIBP and Bord Bia took place in Gualtiero Marchesi’s Restaurant of Erbusco in the province of Brescia in Italy. On the night, the Irish Ambassador to Italy – Patrick Hennessey (pictured below) attended the event as well as a range of top Italian restaurant owners and chefs. The quality of the beef served was simply outstanding. It definitely boosted the future prospects of the Irish Hereford beef brand in Italy. Characterised by its finely grained marbling and rich red colour the Irish Hereford Prime brand is now recognised by many top European chefs for it consistent quality. The brands odyssey through Europe continues with further announcements on the way.
