Fine weather and a burst of fresh grass had a positive affect on buyers at the Society’s Sale at Nenagh on Friday last. Hereford Prime producers drove much of the demand with some breeder activity also.
Joe and Ivor Deverell secured the days top price of €2100 with their Ballyaville Caspar an eighteen month old son of herd sire Gageboro Burly out of Ballyaville Nicol by Drumakeenan Do-a-lot. The purchaser was Nigel Heatrick of Co Monaghan.

Ocean Pompi 9th by Yarram Pompeii V055 from Kieran Harty Ballyheigue Co Kerry equalled the top price of €2100 selling to Cornelius McCarthy of Skibbereen Co Cork.
The days Reserve Champion Springvilla Seanie a third prizewinner at the 2009 Tullamore Show by Kilnagralta Earl sold at €2000. He was bred and exhibited by Tom Roycroft and Family of West Green Dunmanway Co Cork and sold to Patrick Penure Tralee Co Kerry.

The days Champion Quinsboro Pompeii 4th bred and exhibited by John Hayes Kildimo, Co, Limerick sold to Patrick Vaughan Killaloe at a disappointing €1700.
Prices ranged from 1365 – 2100 with many bulls in the 1500 to 1900 price range. Sale average 1665.
