The Society was well pleased with the interest and attendance at its Autumn Show & Sale at Kilmallock. This interest was not however reflected in the prices with the average for bulls back by 300 euro on the sale average in 2008.
Given that this is a predominantly dairy production region, the current severe difficulties of weather and prices, under which dairy farmers strive to survive, some reduction in prices was expected. The overall standard of animals forward was not as high as in previous years.
