GOOD CLEARANCE AT FINAL SPRING SALE
The Hereford Society report a very good clearance at their final spring sale at Kilmallock. Demand for the breed throughout the spring period has been greater than last year and very consistent throughout despite the wettest May on record.
The days Champion Kye Paul 3 rd a very good son of Yarram Pompeii V055 shown by Padraig McGrath, Elphin, Co. Roscommon left the ring unsold failing to reach his reserve.
The days top price of 2,100 was paid by Michael O'Connor, Ballingarry, Co. Limerick for Barley Hill Sailor a Rathcor Ranger son exhibited by Norman Richardson and bred by Kiernan P. Grady of Bohola, Co. Mayo.
Cappadineeen Aero 2 nd was bred by Bill Deane, Dunmanway sired by his stock bull Glaslough Aero out of Boveen Pansy 6 th sold at 1,900 to Ms. Sadie Neville of Adare, Co. Limerick .
Overall there was at 81% clearance with a range of 1,200 to 2,100. Average price 1,620.
