Report from Kilmallock October 2005 HEREFORDS SELL TO 3,500 There was a very good clearance at the Society's final autumn sale of Hereford at Kilmallock. The overall standard of exhibits particularly the heifers was not as good as at the Society's recent sale at Roscommon and this was reflected in the prices.
The days top price of 3,500 went to David Larkin, Kilcormaic for his Champion Cill Cormaic Playboy by Lislaughtin Playboy 46 th and out of Lislaughtin Lydia by CH Visa purchased in calf at the Lislaughtin Dispersal sale for 1,500. He sold to S & N Heatrick Glaslough, Co. Monaghan. The second highest price 2,800 was paid for Glenree King bred and exhibited by L & F Glennon, Dysart. Mullingar, Sired by Kilnagralta Unique by Badlingham Breage he sold to Cornelius McCarthy, Skibbereen.
The Reserve Champion Kye Domino 1 st By PDHR 9322 Domino 69G from Padraig McGrath, Elphin sold at 2200 to Jeremy and James Kingston, Clonakilty. The dam is Kye Spot 4 th by Lisnabin Jovial. There was an 86% clearance of bulls to average 1,840, with a full clearance of heifers though at reduced prices due to quality, selling to a top of 1,840 and averaging 1,600. |
