HEREFORDS AT NENAGH SELL TO €3000
Once again the now annual sale of Herefords at Central Auctions Nenagh met an excellent clearance. The days Champion Kilsunny Aristocrat exhibited by Trevor Dudley Dovea was sired by stock sire Glaslough Ruskin. Out of Kilsunny Kathy's Susan by Rathor Leo the Champion sold at 3000 to William Fleury of Killyon Birr Co Offaly.
Michael Flynn of Moneygall paid 3000 for Udel 1 T62 Whirlwind exhibited by David and Daithi Carroll of Campile Co Wexford. A very well grown bull he is sired by Doonbiddie Hustler and out of Udel 1B2 Illicit Maid by Great Musgrave 1 Bryan Robson. Another Wexford bull Knockduffpoll 1 Charles exhibited by Curtis and Jones of Enniscorthy also sold at 3000. By Rathcor Ranger he is out of Knockduffpoll 1 Tina and sold to Gerard Lillis of Corraclare Co Clare.
Henry Ross of Carrigaline paid 2800 for Yarram Pompeii son Cloonfree Sydney bred by John Mullooly and shown by Norman Richardson.
The Reserve Champion Gageboro Commando exhibited by John Holloway Horseleap and sired by Ballinveney Shay out of Gageboro Sylvia by Kilronan Hosea sold at 2400 to Sean Cleary Streamstown.
Other principal prices including Tom Farrell's Ballinveney Setanta at 2650 to William O'Dwyer Kilrush. James Kirwan's Sheepwalk Romp by Churchill Storm at 2600 to John Cagney Grange Limerick. Kieran Harty's Ocean Special by Smithston Something Special at 2550 to Mount St. Joseph's Abbey Roscrea and his Ballylongane 1 Batavia by Wiranya Batavia at 2500 to Denis Shanahan Nenagh.
Francis Scott Rathdowney sold his Knockfin Brian Boru by Knockfin Xavier at 2500 to Kenneth O'Brien Youghal.
Overall average €2066 with a range of €1450 to €3000.
