Nenagh Sales 2004
Demand for Herefords at Nenagh outstripped supply on Saturday 17 th April. With the exception of the Champion Balleen Potent which failed to reach his reserve there was a full clearance of the 43 bulls exhibited out of 51 catalogued.
Hereford Bulls sold to a top price of €3,500 averaging €1,985.
The €3,500 to p price of the day was paid for Woodview Willie bred and exhibited by FR & DF Abbott, Killeshandra, Co. Cavan by herd sire Wood View Royal he is out of a home bred dam by Bell L Stan Dom 39E and sold to John Hayes of Tankardstown, Ratoath, Co. Meath.
Robert Powell of Toomevara, Nenagh Sold two yearling bulls Blean Oxo at €3,350 to Richard Coughlan and Blean Otto at €3,100 to Michael Slattery, both bulls are by Mr. Powells herd sire Knockglass Ridge and out of homebred cows by Cloncullane Triumph a previous herd sire.
The representative of Thomas Farrell, Castledaly, Moate sold their Reserve Champion Castledaly 1 Jack at €3,100 to Michael Hayes. He sired by CH Daytona son Castledaly Fred and out of a homebred cow by Goldenfield 1 SuperStar.
This is the 2nd Annual sale held by the Irish Hereford Society in association with Nenagh Mart.
