Society President
2009/2010
Mr Coote Geelan
Mr Geelan states "I have been involved with Baltymore Herefords since the foundation in 1973 with my father, when we purchased our first Hereford, Kildrum Fairy for a figure of £165 from Master Micheal Reynolds of Ballinamore. She was the foundation stock and many of her descendants are in our 25 cow herd. I took over the herd from my father in 1997 and started on the show circuit in the early 2000’s with some outstanding success. Some of my other interests are motor sport, horse racing and heavy plough horses. I have been involved with Suffolk Sheep, also Border Leicester, being the first Southern Irish man to be elected to the Border Leicester Council in 2006 for a period of 4 years. It gives me great pleasure to represent my fellow breeders in the year ahead." I look forward to a tremendous national show and the opportunity to meet with and welcome those Hereford breeders from at home and overseas who can join us on this special occasion".
The new Vice President is Mr Gene Lynch, Droumdaniel, Bantry, Co, Cork.
