Marketing, Events and Administration

The Irish Hereford Breed Society are recruiting for a marketing, events and administration assistant.

We are currently seeking applications the role of marketing, events and administration assistant. This can be a permanent, full-time or part-time, office-based role. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day administration tasks in the office as well as taking a lead on social media and promotion/marketing strategies for the Society. They will have a key involvement in the organisation and running of events, including shows, sales and conferences. The successful candidate will work closely with the Breed Secretary and other office staff. This position may suit a marketing or an agri graduate, or someone willing to learn about the agricultural industry, living in the Midlands area. Candidates will have experience with social media, public relations and event management.

The company is currently located in County Westmeath. However, it will move to Longford in the coming months.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the planning and running of the upcoming European Hereford Conference.
  • Assisting with the running of the Society’s Youth Development Programme.
  • Working to plan and implement digital marketing campaigns.
  • Create and manage social media content, as well as content considering other marketing channels, e.g. website content, newsletters etc.
  • Have up to date knowledge of digital / online opportunities that are a good fit for the Irish Hereford Breed Society.
  • Society admin and other tasks including:

Processing registrations and issuing certificates.

Liaising and problem solving with breeders, farmers and work colleagues.

Attending industry meetings and occasional farm visits.

Ad hoc administration duties; report writing, handling phone calls, emails and queries.

Organise and attend promotional events and sales.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A Digital Marketing qualification or experience in Digital Marketing would be a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and have fluent English.
  • Positive attitude, problem solver, a team player with good organisational skills.
  • Independent work ethic, attention to detail.
  • Full driver's licence and own vehicle as travel within Ireland will be required.
  • Competence in report writing and the compilation of promotional material.
  • Experience with the MS Office and Google Docs suites.

Job Type

Full-time, permanent, office-based (Monday – Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm), or alternatively, the right candidate may be considered for a part-time role. Occasional work outside of these hours may be needed to facilitate weekend or evening event attendance.

Salary: €30,000 - €35,000 depending on experience.
